How To Use

Create a print-ready times table worksheet in just a few steps. Here’s everything you need to know.

Step 1 – Give Your Worksheet a Title

Type a title into the Worksheet Title box – keep it under 40 characters.

If you leave the title box blank, the tool will generate one automatically based on the tables you’ve selected.

Step 2 – Choose Your Times Tables

Click the numbered buttons to select which times tables to include. The button turns teal when it’s active. You can select as many as you like – mix the 3s and the 7s, or throw them all in for a real challenge!

Want a table higher than 12? Use the Other box at the end of the row and type any number up to 20.

Step 3- Pick Your Layout

Choose how you’d like the questions to appear on the page:

Horizontal – questions are written across the page in the familiar format, like this:

6 × 4 = ___

Vertical – questions are stacked in columns in the traditional long multiplication style, with the numbers written one above the other and a line underneath to write the answer.

Step 4 – Set the Question Order

  • Ascending – questions run in order from ×1 through to ×12. Great for working through a table systematically.
  • Random – questions are shuffled for a surprise every time. Perfect for testing recall.

Note: if you’ve selected more than one times table, the order is always randomized automatically.

Step 5 – Choose How Many Questions

Pick 12, 24, 36, or 48 questions. The font size adjusts automatically so everything fits neatly on the page – fewer questions means larger, more spacious text, which is great for younger learners. More questions means a denser, more challenging sheet.

Vertical layout supports up to 36 questions.

Step 6 – Options

Name line – adds a Name: ___________ line at the top of the worksheet so students can write their name before they start. Turned on by default.

Answer sheet – generates a separate answer sheet alongside your worksheet.

Step 7 – Colors

Use the color pickers to personalize your worksheet.

Click the colored square to open the color picker, or type a hex code directly if you have a specific color in mind.

Step 8 – Generate and Download

Hit the Generate Worksheet button when you’re happy with your settings.

A preview of your first few questions will appear so you can check everything looks right before printing.

Then click:

  • Download Worksheet to save your printable PDF.
  • Download Answer Sheet (if you turned on the answer sheet option) to save the matching answer key.

Both files download instantly as PDFs, ready to print at home or at school.

It works well from Grade 2 upward, when children are typically beginning to learn their multiplication facts, right through to Grade 5 and beyond for anyone who needs more practice. The question count and layout options let you adjust the difficulty to suit your learner – fewer questions and larger text for younger children, more questions for older ones.

It’s great for classroom teachers, teaching assistants, homeschool parents, and tutors. Use it for timed drills, morning work, homework, math centers, intervention sessions, or quick end-of-lesson checks. Because you can mix tables and randomize questions, the same tool works across a wide range of ability levels.

Horizontal layout displays questions across the page in the familiar format (6 x 4 = ___). Vertical layout stacks the numbers one above the other in the traditional column multiplication style with a line underneath for the answer. Vertical layout supports up to 36 questions per page.

Ascending order runs through the selected table in sequence from x1 to x12 – useful for working through a table systematically. Random order shuffles the questions for a different arrangement every time – better for testing recall. If you select more than one times table, questions are always randomized automatically.

You can choose 12, 24, 36, or 48 questions. The font size adjusts automatically to fit – fewer questions means larger, more spacious text, which is great for younger or less confident learners.
