  • Counting skills – they’ll have to count the dinos carefully to ensure they are coloring the right amount in the boxes below

There’s a couple ways they could use the worksheet.

The main way is for them to carefully count each dino in the top section and color in a corresponding square in the graph below.

It’s a good idea for them to put a cross through each dinosaur as they count it to ensure they’re not counting them twice.

Or they could even cut out the pictures and stick them straight onto the graph. This way may help them more easily make the connection between the dinosaurs and the graph.

After they’ve counted them all, it’s time to interpret the data.

Some questions would be good here:

  • Which dino was there the most of?
  • Which dino was there the fewest of?
  • How many more Spinosauruses are there than Pteranodons?
  • What else do you notice about the data?

This kind of questioning will really help them to deepen their learning.
